Gender Inequality

To start, perempuan zaman sekarang should be really really thankful that they were not born in the past where men and the whole society were extremely biased towards men. So extreme that masa zaman Arab Jahiliah, kalau perempuan lahirkan anak perempuan, ditanamnya hidup hidup budak tu!! In India, a daugher = a hell of a burden sebab they are expensive to raise and have to pay an expensive dowry during weddings. The list goes on and on. . . . .

But is there still inequality around us?? YESS!! And I have to say, both sides are experiencing it. . .

1. Occupation ( soldier are for men, nurse is for women )
2. Education (598.5 million women are illiterate currently!)
3. Working hours (men has 1.5% longer working hours than women)
4. Status (It's weird to see a single women in  their 40's but it's cool for guys isn't it?)
5. Law (Women are more likely to have shorter and lighter sentence than men)
6. Cry man (A man can never cry in his whole life!) yeah right --"
7. Metrosexual (Only women can do facial and get their done at the salon) WT Fish?

However, they are some cases that we can't really say that it is gender inequality. In Islam, a MAN is the head of the family and imam in the prayers. In Christian, only a man can be priest. That's why they are called Father, not Mom. In the Malay culture it's a bit interesting. The son will inherit the family's legacy in Adat Temenggung but Adat Perpatih is the opposite. I'm sure that  HE and they have good reasons for this since everybody is okay with it.

So what I'm trying to say is let's eliminate this gender barrier. not physically laaaaa, but mentally! Get rid of the perceptions that these things are only for guys and those things are only for girls. Datuk Chef Wan and Datuk Maznah Hamid had proven to us that we as mankind, can do anything despite what our gender is! That's it for today. TATA :)
